TOP 5 CHRISTMAS MOVIES

December 1, 2016

One of my favourite things about Christmas is all the holiday movies that I can watch! I thought I’d share a little list of my top 5 favourites!

  • How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

I absolutely love this movie. It’s (in my opinion) one of the best, most festive movies! It’s been one of my favourites since I was a little kid. I’ve basically planned out our entire December so we will be watching this movie on Christmas Eve as a family! If you don’t know, it is a live action adaptation of the Dr Seuss book starring Jim Carry. He plays a grumpy, green Grinch who decides he has had enough and plots to ruin Christmas for the Christmas loving citizens of Whoville.

  • Elf (2003)

Will Ferrell is one of my favourite actors so naturally, this was going to be in my top 5! It’s such a fun movie about an elf named Buddy (played by Will Ferrell). After being unable to shake the feeling that he doesn’t belong, Buddy travels to New York to find his real father. It is a hilarious and festive movie that is great for children and adults!

  • The Santa Clause (1994)

The Santa Clause is such a classic movie and I make my husband watch it with me every year (maybe multiple times). Again, this movie is really fun and great for children and adults! If you haven’t seen it, it’s about single dad Scott (Tim Allen) who has his son for Christmas Eve. After Scott accidentally kills Santa they are magically transported to the North Pole where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before Christmas next year.

  • National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

Even though this movie is from 1989 it is still one of the best Christmas movies ever made! Another great family movie about wanting the perfect Christmas and everything going wrong. I really love this movie and I could probably watch it every day in December!

  • Love Actually (2003)

Is it even Christmas if you don’t watch Love Actually? Probably my all time favourite Christmas movie (I even watch this one not at Christmas time!). Love Actually has the most incredible cast, including my favourite actor ever, Alan Rickman. I’m sure everyone has seen this so I don’t really need to explain it, but if you haven’t seen it, just watch it. You will love it, I’m sure!

If you want to know what other Christmas movie I love and what else I’ll be watching this month, head on over to my husband’s blog, tassiedad.com. He will be making weekly posts with Christmas movie suggestions!

My son doesn’t really like watching movies because they’re too long, but hopefully he will watch at least parts of these movies with us! Thanks for commenting! x
