GERARD COSMETICS REVIEW

September 2, 2016

I’ve wanted to try Gerard Cosmetics for a while now. A lot of the YouTubers I watch say that their lip liners are the best they’ve ever tried so when Discount Beauty Boutique had them back in stock I bought myself some.

I decided to get two Hydra Matte Liquid Lipsticks and two lip liners. The lipsticks I got were, 1995 and Ruby Slipper and the liners were, Cher and Nude.
The liners are amazing! They are creamy and apply really well. Both of the colours I got are perfect and work with a rage of lipsticks that I own. The one thing I don’t particularly like about them is that you go through them so quick. I got mine a few weeks ago and I’ve already sharpened through a lot of the Cher liner. They are also a little bit pricey. They are $23 each on Discount Beauty Boutique which is a lot more than what I am used to paying (I usually use NYX liners which are $4 each). You can get them for $16.50 each on Beauty Bay, but if you need it ASAP and don’t want to wait, paying a little more from DBB is worth it.
Overall, I love them and will be purchasing more!

They Hydra Mattes are a different story. 1995 is an amazing lipstick. The colour is perfect on my skintone and the formula is really nice. It’s in between Jeffree Star and Lime Crime. So if you think Jeffree Star’s formula is too creamy and Lime Crime’s is too liquid, this will be perfect for you! This formula isn’t smudge proof, but it does last all day.
Ruby Slipper on the other hand, is probably the worst lipstick I’ve ever used in my entire life. Do not buy it ever. It is unbelievably streaky  so you have to apply a few layers which makes it really sticky and uncomfortable to wear. It also has glitter in it (which I didn’t realise when I bought it) so it feels horrible and scratchy on your lips. It’s really a shame because the colour is so nice. But don’t worry, I’ve gone through my lipstick collection and found 3 dupes!
Jeffree Star’s Unicorn Blood, Lime Crime’s Wicked and Australis’ Buda-Pash.

There are a bunch more Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks I want to buy, but I think I’ll read some reviews before I buy them because I don’t want to make the same mistake I did with this order.

You can purchase Gerard Cosmetics from their official website, Beauty Bay and Discount Beauty Boutique.

1995 is a beautiful colour. Such a shame about Ruby Slipper, it looks stunning. I don’t like glitter or anything in lipstick either.

I have nail polish called Ruby Slipper is pretty much identical. It too has sparkles in it but that’s not a bad thing in nail polish. #KCACOLS

I don’t ever wear lipstick, but I love the colour of the 1995 one! Shame the other one wasn’t great, but love that you found several others that are the same shade! x #KCACOLS

I’ve not heard of Gerard cosmetics before, is it a range available in the UK? I’d love to find a new lip liner, I struggle to find one I like. Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope that you come back again Sunday after next x
