It’s finally Autumn here in Australia! Autumn is my favourite season. The weather is usually a perfect balance between sunny and rainy days, I can start to wear jumpers again and wear darker makeup!I’m going to start off with my favourite thing; lipsticks (and of course they are liquid lipsticks). I love liquid lipsticks so much! They last all day and if they’re a good formula, it feels like you’re not even wearing any. The five colours I’ve chosen are what I would usually wear day to day. I love a good bold lip, so I don’t care if I’m just going to the supermarket, I need to wear nice lipstick.
I’ll start off by talking about the Lime Crime lipstick. This is the shade Trouble and my husband got it for me for Christmas. I love Lime Crime! Their Velvetine formula is incredible, super long lasting and smells really nice. This colour is one of my favourites; it is an olive green. I’ve not owned a lipstick this colour before and is one of the more unusual colours but it’s so nice and not super outrageous. It is really wearable and is great on my skintone.
Next are the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks in my three essential colours; a nude, a red and a brown. Celebrity Skin is my perfect nude! It took me so long to find a perfect nude for me. All of the Lime Crime and Australis nudes were way too light for me and I would have to try and mix different browns and light nudes to try and get my perfect nude, but now I don’t have to. Unicorn Blood is a really dark, rusty, red. I personally prefer a darker red for Autumn and Winter. I’ve written about this colour so many times so I won’t go on and on about it. If you want to read more you can visit my Red Lipstick for Valentine’s Day post. Dominatrix is my newest lipstick purchase and has quickly become a favourite! Brown is my favourite lipstick colour so when I saw that Jeffree Star had a dark brown I had to get it. It is quite a bit darker than my other brown lipsticks, but I really love it and is the perfect Autumn shade.
Lastly, a colour I haven’t had a chance to wear much yet. Mum-Bai by Australis is a beautiful dark purple! I don’t usually wear purple lipstick, but I saw a friend wearing a similar colour once and decided to give it a try. I absolutely love this colour on me and Australis’ Velourlips are so afforable at only $10.49! They are long lasting but can sometimes be a little flaky and drying.
Trouble – Lime Crime $30 | Celebrity Skin – Jeffree Star $29 | Unicorn Blood – Jeffree Star $29 | Dominatrix – Jeffree Star $29 | Mum-Bai – Australis Cosmetics $10.49
Next, something I haven’t really posted about (which is crazy because I own over 100 of them); nail polish! When I was pregnant I had really great nails so I bought A LOT of nail polish. All of the colours I’ve chosen are from OPI. I just prefer their nail polish over all others. It lasts longer and they just have such an incredible rage of colours.
The first colour is an olive green (just like Lime Crime’s Trouble Velvetine) and it is called Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window. I love this name! It was one of the reasons I bought it, to be honest. I love olive green. It is one of my favourite colours so of course I would include this one!
Next is A-Taupe The Space Needle. Again, brown is one of my favourite colours so I had to include one! As the name suggests, this is a taupe colour. A grey/brown perfect for everyone!OPI Scores a Goal wouldn’t usually be my colour. I’m not really a purple nails person, but this is kind of in between purple and red and I really love it. It’s kind of a mauvy, raisin colour. It looks really nice on my skintone which is always a big deal for me!
San Tan-Tonio is a lighter colour, but I think it is perfect for Autumn as it’s the colour of Autumn leaves! I feel like this is a colour that suits darker skintones better than lighter skintones. I absolutely love OPI. Though you do usually need two coats to get the desired colour.
Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window – OPI $11.00 | A-Taupe The Space Needle – OPI $10.00 | OPI Scores a Goal – OPI $23.75 | San Tan-Tonio – OPI $14.00
