REVIEW: THE ORDINARY LACTIC ACID 5% + HA 2%

I have wanted to try the brand The Ordinary for probably like a year now, and I was looking for some new skincare about 2 months ago and thought that it was time I tried them out. I had seen a lot of people talk about their Lactic Acid and after reading what it does I thought it would be great for me to try.

It is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates your skin and is made with purified Tasmanian pepperberry that is known to reduce signs of inflammation and sensitivity that is often associated with exfoliation. It sounded really scary to me at first because of the word acid, but after reading up on it and watching some videos on how to use it, I knew it would be great.

For the first week I mixed it in with my moisturiser, but now I just use it straight. It can’t be used on sensitive or peeling skin. It contains an alpha hydroxy acid that could increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the possibility of sunburn, so please keep that in mind.

Thoughts

This is honestly one of the best products I’ve ever used. I noticed a difference after about 2 days of use. It has started fading acne scars (which I’ve been trying to fade for years and nothing else has worked) and has really started evening out my skin tone. I have worn makeup maybe twice since I started using this. My skin has been so nice that I have barely felt like I needed to cover anything. I also haven’t felt overly dry and it’s winter here so it’s nice to not be dry.

If you have problem skin I would definitely recommend this. It’s effective and very affordable! This was only $12 and will last me months and months because I only use 3-4 drops a day. I will be trying more from The Ordinary very soon.

This sounds like an interesting product the fact that it’s vegan is a huge plus!

My biggest worry with these is that they are so small but it’s good to hear that this will last you a long time!! I have more of an issue with oily skin at the moment though. 🙁 x

I’ve not looked into what products they have for oily skin, but I’m sure they’ve got some great stuff!
